Custom integrations
Tell us the system and what has to agree with what
Custom integration work is quoted after a systems review
Integration for categories major platforms decline
Some perfectly legal businesses cannot keep a payment provider. The large
platforms decline whole categories outright, and a shop that gets shut off mid week has no way
to take money on the Thursday.
Those businesses can be underwritten by processors who specialize in them, and the part that
is normally missing is somebody to wire it into the store. That is what this is. Your processor,
your account, your money, and the software between them built rather than bolted.
To be plain about what this is not: we are not a payment processor and nothing here
underwrites you. The underwriting is your processor's, the account is yours, and what
we sell is the integration work and keeping it correct.
Integration engineering details
Payment integrations fail on details that are invisible until money moves, so
the client this is built on was written against a processor's own test environment first and
every response recorded.
Two safeguards protect your shop's password. The vendor's own specification puts the username
and password in the address, which would write your password into every access log between you
and them, so Venditory sends it in the request body instead. And signing in returns cookies that
are not the credential, so every later call carries the token explicitly: with cookies alone the
call comes back refused, which looks exactly like a dead password.
The live address is never assumed either. Guessing a production endpoint from a test one is
how a test payout reaches a real bank account, so the client refuses to run without being told
which one it is talking to.
Integration process
Systems review first
Before anything is quoted. Which systems hold what, what has to agree with what, and
which of them has an interface you can actually reach. A quote given before that is a guess
with a number on it.
Tested on a copy, never live data
A sandbox with your shape of data in it, driven at the real entry points, including the
cases that are supposed to be refused. Only then does it touch anything of yours.
Clear status reporting
With dates. A promise about software is worth what the date attached to it is worth, and
an honest shorter list is more useful than a long one.
Direct line to the developer
The person who wires it is the person who wrote the software it is wiring. There is
nobody to be escalated to, which cuts both ways and is worth knowing.
Integration call
The first call is a conversation about your systems, not a demonstration of
ours. If the answer is that you do not need this, that is a useful answer and it is free.
